M-18 Hellcat question
I've been looking up information about the M-18 Hellcat, a late war light tank destroyer produced by the United States. I've done a little bit of research on it (basic information can be found here: http://www.wwiivehicles.com/html/usa/m18_tankdestroyer.html), but I was wondering if anyone knows abo...

Charlemagne Division uniforms, weapons, insignia, etc.
Does anyone know if there are pictures available on the internet of members of the Charlemagne Division? I'm trying to figure out if they were issued camoflage uniforms or the standard feldgrau ones. In addition I'm wondering if soldiers in that unit might have been issued Stg-44s, Gewehr 43s, etc. ...

It's not just the liner, the helmet itself seems small, at least compared to an American steel helmet and a Viet Cong wicker-and-plastic one that I also received (my grandfather was too young to serve in World War II except at the very end of the war in the Coast Guard, but later joined the army and...

Small Helmets?
I remember hearing somewhere that late in the war, the Germans manufactured smaller versions of their standard helmet for teenage conscripts. Is there any truth to this? I inherited an old German helmet from my grandfather, and it seems quite small. So either it's one of these "kiddie" hel...

I remember reading Jim Dunnigan's Dirty Little Secrets of World War II ages ago, and it mentioned an incident in which the Japanese troops may have used chemical weapons in New Guinea against either US or Australian troops. It appears to have been an isolated incident. The problem is, there aren't a...

Diversion: SomethingAwful.com does WWII
For those of you that haven't heard of Something Awful.com, it is a humor site that tends to be a bit on the bizarre side. While devoted mostly to Photoshop gags and reviews of bad movies, there is also a semi-regular feature by one of the writers that is about the, um, more inventive, shall we say,...

Stug III vs. Stug IV
Aside from the chassis upon which either vehicle was based, is there any major substantive difference between the Stug III and Stug IV assault guns? I built the Academy kit of the Stug IV recently, and I'm curious.

Americal Division
I realize this part of the forum regards the Allies in the ETO, but I figure somebody around here might know what I'm looking for. Is there any readily available book out there that might provide information about the US Americal Division and its operations in the South Pacific? I have already read ...

Pz IIIN in Hungary, Winter 1944-45
I'm working on a diorama based on an old Pz IIIN kit that I had built and painted years ago and just found in the attic, and I'm planning on repainting it to try and accurately reflect one of the units operating in Hungary in the Winter of 1944-1945. Is anybody aware of any Wehrmacht, Waffen SS, or ...
