Thanks a lot Chris for the fast reply! That is a big help for me!

Is it possible that the FPNr was "gestrichen" in July 1944 because the unit was wiped out during the Soviet summer offensive?

So what? Jagdtiger, The HG South Ukraine was completely defeated in Moldavia and Romania in August-September 1944 by the 2nd and 3rd Ukrainians Fronts of Russian Generals Malinovsky and Tolbukhin. Sixteen (!) German divisions were completely annihilated there and Romania, as an ally of Germany, was...

Richard,

have you ever seen those pictures showing German soldiers hanged by SS or MPs because they retreated? And for sure the Soviets were by far more prepared for winter.

Berlin 1945

Hi! I just watched "Der Untergang" and I liked it. Now I´m quite curious about further reading on that subject. I didn´t understand all too much of the movie (I´ve only got some high school German and learned some during my time overseas with the army) but I can read German pretty well. No...

Wow, I just saw that movie in German. Didn´t understand anything but liked it anyway. It´s one of the first movies that is at leat a little bit fair. It doesn´t portray the German soldier as a monster per se! What I don´t like is that at the end of the movie Ivan is pictured as being quite fair - wh...

German infantry soldier on the East Fron! First marching for days during the early war years and then living in shallow holes, fighting against huge Soviet forces, underfed, plagued by lice and other bugs, freezing all the time during winter, loosing friends every day, total fear of being the next o...

1. Like Hitler I´d try to make peace with Britian. But - as history has shown - that would be impossilbe for as long as a war-monger like churchill is in charge 2. I would NOT take Roosevelt´s bait (aggressive naval tactics, unhidden support of UK and USSR) and try to stay out of a war with the US. ...

Ah, very interesting! Sorry I´m so bad with medals

As I´m currently working on a Waffen-SS enlisted man´s repro-uniform there is one more question: What is the correct way of adding the IC2 ribbon to the button-hole of my tunic?
