Re: Incidents and actions from the Eastern Front - 1941.
I think 5th Army. Rokossovsky's 9th Mechanised Corps attacked this day with 2 divisions. I think the division in question was M.E. Katukov's 20th Tank Division, which advanced about 7 miles before returning to it's start point. Just to illustrate the varieties of perspective, Kamenir's book,"Th...

Re: Defeat of LAH at Veszprem, March 1945
Igorn, it is obvious that you are well informed. But I generally disregard your perspective, and your posts because you seem to wish people to think that the Red Army never lost a battle, or a man. I think you don't even try to be objective. I too am a hard working historian. Why should I read your ...

Re: Panthers and Tigers after Zitadelle Aug 43: Help!
s.Pz.Abt 503 on 8 August moved from SW of Kharkov towards Bogodochov and attached to Das Reich. On 11 Aug. the batt was "near Maximofka with 12 or 13 Tigers." So from this I get that the 503rd was a distinct entity. Unteroffizier Niemann, Gunner in Tiger 332 and the source for this narrati...

655 PzJgr Abt
Nafziger shows this Abt with Hornisse, the Achtung Panzer site also shows Hornisse at Kursk w/ this Abt. However, Glantz makes no reference to it in his Kursk book and the Pz Campaign game K43 doesn't show it. Dr Niehorster doesn't show it any where on the Ostfront as of 28 June 42. I'll start diggi...

Wow thats a bit more than a bit. I remember the PzVb 700 thread and followed it with interest. I should have started to cull info before it got to 7 pages. I'll do it now. Thanks again.
