I had just purchased An Iron Cross 2nd Class and presented it to Heinz Grobbler. He said "Your Iron Cross is in much better shape than mine'I said "I just purchased this cross ,You earned yours.'

I met Heinz Grobbler at a gun show several years ago .It seems he did not self distruct The U-505.He entered service at age 17.He leaves a wife and several children(grandchildren)He seemed a gentle soul and I wish I could Have attended aThird Reich Tour with him.

I carry his mark on my right arm
