Yes, the Germans were beaten by the Soviets, not the West. But for anyone--even a Sovietphile--to even insinuate that the victory was anything besides sheer weight in number, is absurd. I find it downright hilarious when a military channel or History Channel has some crap about how great a leader Zh...

Zisterdorf, April 1945

When operation Spring Awakeing was "sprung", Sepp Dietrich urged his minions to "present Hitler with the oil of Ploestii for his birthday". 4 weeks later, with Vienna already occupied, the final oil fields of the Third Reich lie in immediate danger. Even at this late stage of the...

Re: DeGrelle's " Campaign in Russia" for sale

I had a bookseller look for a copy for me. He wants 68 dollars, which I can't afford. However, he has a hold on it for 48 hours, so, if anyone wants it, respond and I will put you in touch with him. Cheers, Jeff. I bought a copy off of Ebay a few years back. Mint condition, $120. One word best desc...

Not sure if this is the same book or not, but I just picked up an EXCELLENT history of the Siege of Budapest called The Siege of Budapest, 100 Days in World War II , by Krisztian Ungvary, 2005 Yale University Press. I looked it over and immediately bought it. It's nearly 500 pages long, in English,...

Aparently the security detail of the Croatian (NDH) embassy in Berlin defended the building against the advancing Red Army. A handful of the Croatian soldiers surrendered after a lengthy battle, and one of them, the Military Attache, survived being a POW in the Soviet Union after the war (his name ...
