Re: So....My Tank Corps in Prussia...

Hey, you serious? Can it possibly be we managed to cajole DCC into monetizing the forum heroes?   Its for your own good DCC. I mean if Baen can publish a book like "Watch on the Rhine" (Waffen-SS veterans rejuvenated to fight invading aliens) and Sven Hassel's crap can still g...

Re: Waffen SS units in Warsaw Uprising 1943

Hmm, Simon, are you not confusing the 1943 Warsaw Ghetto uprising and the 1944 Warsaw uprising? Two rather different events with mostly different actors.

Re: What do YOU do to stay in shape?

In winter hit the cross country skis, in summer a 2 mile run every couple of days, play basketball or somesuch twice a week, row (real water and real boat - screw the machines), hit the weights sometimes (though I disagree about the free weights - use the machines to isolate and do NOT risk injury. ...

Re: So....My Tank Corps in Prussia...

Great, great tale. Say, one thing that bothers me is "What to do about Arajs and Hansen?" God knows I've tried to kill them off in a number of Tales. Their continued survival is a mystery to me....... :[] :?: Hmmmm, what to do, what to do? Heh :D I've got the vague outline of a heroes tale...

Re: So....My Tank Corps in Prussia...

As splendid as ever, I imagine, if you had a looking glass, you could see all the way to the sea. Love the technical detail as always, differences between AP and HE trajectories of the 75mm indeed :D . Hey, I finally found a detail drawing Nahverteidigungswaffe on the 'net, I was always under the im...

Re: So....My Tank Corps in Prussia...

Excellent, it just gets better. And those cute little tehnical/historical accuracies :D Get a publisher DCC, take out the forum in-jokes and you got 3/4 of a kick-ass paperback here already. Even with some of the forum wierdness (Irish panzer troops etc), its kind of Tim Powers secret history amusin...

Re: So....My Tank Corps in Prussia...

Actually, why does one need need a happy ending? This ain't Hollywood. Even speaking comedy the end of "Blackadder goes forth" springs to mind. Every actor wants to play a good death scene anyway %E %E %E . Filmwise I'm thinking more more of films like ... Untergang, Zulu Dawn, Alamo, the ...

Faith ? Considering it took 18 months to get this far, I assume those following have plenty of patience DCC :D . Besides, its not quite so harsh as following a prophet through the the desert for 40 years. (you ain't nowhere young enough to drag this out for 40 years anyway DCC, so don't even think ...

Re: So....My Tank Corps in Prussia...

Aha! A new years present from DCC :D But where is that missing commie regiment*, and what evil twist awaits us? *missing commie tank regiments are often found at the bottom of swamps, where their optimistic / fanatic / foolish / callous commanders decided to force unfavorable terrain, or just plain ...

Re: Progress, an Armor Topic!

Yeah, Theres truth in it. Most of the world is still using a StG44/Garand hybrid (the good old Ak-47). A panzerfaust derivative (RPG). A bazooka derivative (Carl Gustav). Most of the world (including both the US and Russian military) still doesn't understand blitzkrieg (they think the tanks and airp...

Re: Germans to re-investigate the massacre at Maillé

Hey presto! Years of make-work employment at taxpayers' expense for a legion of civil servants, lawyers and other parasites while the world continues on its way to Hell in a handcart. Indeed, one has to wonder what present imperative prompts the need to investigate this event, that has been not pre...

Re: Valhalla's Warriors -Waffen-SS Eastern Front

I would also ask this : what is the justification to treat the Waffen-SS as a single case for anything? I ask this because the organization not only quite enormous (approaching a million men), but was surely one of the most heterogenous fighting forces ever assembled. How does one manage to establis...
