Re: "Tiger" by Rüdiger Warnick and Stephan Cazenave

If you are willing to pay Mercedes price (good art paper, good printing, genuine images, readable font) for Trabant quality (font for the blind, faked images, cheap uncoated paper), then do so.

Re: "Tiger" by Rüdiger Warnick and Stephan Cazenave

So you don´t consider "sharpening" of a photograph a forgery? How about colourization of a black-and-white photograph? Both are just one form of digital processing in which information that does not exist in the original is invented, i.e. the end result is a fake. It is irrelevant for whic...

Re: 1940 Norwegian Campaign books

Is Haarr´s book neutral in its tone? An important question for Lunde´s book is very neutral and very professional (no moralizing) in its tone.

Re: 1940 Norwegian Campaign books

Note: Lunde´s book´s page count is about 600, not 400 as the publisher´s site says or as even some reviews say. I just wonder how can someone supposedly reviewing a book miss nearly 200 pages...OTOH e.g. Stone´s review lists the correct count.

Re: 1940 Norwegian Campaign books

I´d say very good, though there are lots of typos (publisher´s screw ups) and poor maps. Plus sometimes I´d wish the author would be a bit more spefific than "heavy artillery fire" or "strong aerial support". I have been in contact with mr. Lunde for several weeks now. A very nic...

1940 Norwegian Campaign books

There is a new one on the topic by "Geir Haarr". Jow does it differ from the also recent one by Henrik Lunde?

Is it a revised edition of the older Penguin book or a straight reprint?

Re: Review: Graf & Grislawski

Otherwise a good book but the fact that Herr Grislawski allowed his sone to become a stinking draft dodger was too much for me and I sold it.

German view of the Sherman tank

How did German tank experts view the Sherman? Jentz´s Panzertruppen has German reports on the T-34, but e.g. his Panzertracts book on captured tanks has no comparable reports on the Sherman. So, anyone with such reports?

Re: Feldgrau Author: Mark C Yerger

Mark, been reading the volume 4 and one translation error keeps popping up: there are constant references to captured (and otherwise) "grenade launchers" that is false as the context clearly indicates "mortars". I.e. "Granatwerfer" must be translated as "mortar&quo...

Does one need to "track down" a copy for it is readily available from the publisher?
