Military Hospitals
Were military Hospitals specific to the service, i.e. did the Heer/SS/Luftwaffe have their own hospitals or were they for all services, i am not talking about field hospitals i mean Hospitals that Seriosly wounded were brought back to, did men of different services share wards?

SA Men after the Night of the Long Knives
What became of the majority of SA men after the leadership were overthrown/executed? I am assuming that the majority were transferred into other military service but were many taken into the SS due to their Nazi ideals? Or were they excluded from the SS because of the Political atmosphere? Any info ...

Ok
All the Vons i ever read about had aristocratic hereditary even if they were only minor aristocracy, in my opinion this is still a viable way of checking the theory.

An easy way to find out
A good way to check this theory would be to go through any lists you have of officers of the Wehrmacht, SS and other arms and see how many have the name "Von" which is often an aristocratic name, i believe most of the "Old Gaurd" and Prussian Officer class were more loyal to thei...

A Question Regarding SS Mountain Troops
Two questions, firstly which SS Mountain units were based in Hallein in 1943-45, secondly what did these units do towards the end of the war?

Betr.St.Verw.Kp.572 I am trying to find out the facts leading up to my Great Grandfathers Death Near Lublin, Poland in July 1944, M...

Opa
My Opa told me that when he was promoted to Unteroffizier Fahnrich he was trained to use every weapon available from a Pistol right up to an anti tank gun, his initial training was mainly with the 81mm mortar and after 6 months training he was sent to the front to lead a sqaud in a Heavy Company.

Sad
Yes that is a sad example of the desperation of the last ragged attempts to hold the front, My GGrandfather was a Gefreiter with Betr.St.Verw.Kp.572 which i have been told was a unit that was normally well behind lines and carried out such duties as fuel distribution, he was 43 years old and had 5 y...
