Re: Group of WWI soldiers? help with translation too please

very interesting and well worth the effort required to document it for future generations of your family. I did think No.4 said Amtsrichter = District court judge but appearences are deceptive and thought it must be a similar word but Auntie was correct :D Good luck with it.

Code markings

Hi,

I have a photo of a Heinkel 111 with the markings NA+IR and I was wondering what additional information could be got from the markings. From reading a bit on the internet it seems these may just be factory markings but maybe somebody could confirm that for me.
thanks

Re: Polizei Dienstpass Translation Request

maybe a better translation of 3. would be instead of "entering" (names in a book) perhaps "registration" might be better as they are police unit. So it might be the registration of people from a particular region or village. The name I read at the moment is "Ruhogrovilaze&qu...

Re: Wiking in the Caucasus

Tigre, I don't think the second name ends in zug because he has a very distinctive way of writing a letter "u" as can be seen in the word Kaukasus with the line above the "u", whereas its a dot in that name. I don't think now that the name I thought it was is correct I couldn't f...

Re: Wiking in the Caucasus

The three names seem to apply to the 3 men in the background. The first word seems to be Chef, seems to be something+"hef" and the only word I can think of for that is Chef which may refer to the guy on the left. the second looks like Katadzig ( but not sure about "t" and 2nd &qu...

Re: 1944 SS Photo...Translation Help Needed...

Hi, The scan is a bit over exposed could you darken it a bit. At the moment I can read most of it. I believe It says Im Zeltlager bei ?atzla?itz August 1944 ? v.r.n.l. Uscha.Seibt (Gesch.-F.), Uscha. Kammer (R II), Rttf. Schmidt (S.F.U.), Uscha. Belger (Gesch.-F.), Refü. O-Kan. Reinert, Rttf. ???man...
