Re: 104. Jäger-Division StuG and halftracks
Not that anything of Martin's ever needed confirming, but the Greek partisans who fought against the 104. JD in Amfilochia in 1944 noted that the german counterattack was spearheaded by tanks. Thank you Martin!

Re: sdkfz 250 with french hotcskiss 25mm antitank in north afrik
Folks, first, two points on the lonesentry.com article: 1) the date of 1943 is the date the article appeared in the official US publication. 2) at the end of the last paragraph, note the phrase "...the company has already created a heavy platoon with two 75-mm infantry guns and four 25-mm antit...

Re: sdkfz 250 with french hotcskiss 25mm antitank in north afrik
Folks, I think this may be relevant: http://www.lonesentry.com/articles/ttt/armored-reconnaissance-ww2.html . I have the history of AA33 and will check it tonight or tomorrow to see if there's any information on the 25mms. IIRC there was a reference to the fact that even Shermans (or maybe Grants?) ...

Regiment v.Köppen, Greece 1941
Folks, I have seen reference to a "Rgt.v.Köppen", of the 9th Panzer Division, in the campaign in Greece in April '41. This is almost certainly Panzer Regiment 33, especially as it's mentioned in connection with the tank battle of Ptolamais on 13/4/41. My question is: does anyone know what ...

Folks, This is not terribly helpful, but an officer of the 102nd wrote an account of its camapign in Greece for the Royal Artillery Journal. It's referenced in the official Greek History, so I can get you the precise details, it may include some organisational notes. According to the greek OH, the 1...

Maybe some but I recently found a photo of a Luchs in 10 PD. After doing this research on another vehicle type I suspect the records reflect where the vehicles were supposed to go not necessary where they ended up. 10PD? That's a new one, certainly. There's a very narrow window between Luchs delive...

Folks,
On the Nashorns etc., the sorely missed Ron Klages posted this at another forum a while back:
http://www.network54.com/Forum/47207/thread/1062895021/
I seem to remember a mention that 525. partly had Czech 4,7cm guns when comitted in the Balkans in '41.

Re: Please Help - Africa Corp Signs
Hello I'll take a shot at it. First of all, the "D" with the line through it is probably the 21. Panzerdivision emblem, so that guess is correct. 1. Black sign with white lettering painted on wooden box side, has Africa Corp emblem, 7.1 in large writting with arrow underneath, with 668 and...

Folks, Mine just arrived (not a bad performance, Canada to Greece in less than ten days- and with Easter included), and it is indeed superb. Different format, so the maps are smaller than the German edition, but the text layout is somewhat improved by it. The translators have done a very good job, a...

Actually I must apologise. Coming late into this thread, I had not noticed the original question was for January '45 and I only checked for November '44! The book contains a brigade report for 8.1.45: Personel and Weapons: Stab u. Stabs-Kp:10 Off, 39 NCO, 144 ORs, 23 leMG, 4 leMG (Bord), 2 2cm Flak ...
