Re: What equipment
The batallion almost certainly consisted of 4 batteries: 1st-3rd had 4 x 88mm and 3 x 20mm each, and 4th btty had 12 x 20mm, or possibly 10x20mm and 2x20mmQuad.

Re: Help with 4.PzA and AA Kempf (8.A) OB Aug 43?
Thank you, Jan, but I've already seen that website and while it is helpful, it doesn't give enough details. I'm looking for GHQ artillery/StuG/Flak assets and which Korps they were attatched to for Aug 1-5 1943). These OBs only show divisions. The July 5-6 OB is an example of what I'd love to see. I...

Re: (Schw.)Pz-Jag.Abt "C" - Summer '43 AG Sud?
Yess! My guess was correct...Pak 41/43s. Thanks a ton, Martin. According to the KOSAVE report, the 3 Inf Div of LII AK (167., 255., and 322.) each had 6x 8,8cm Pak attatched on or about July 20 1943. It seemed logical that those 88s would've come from some GHQ unit, and Pz.Jag.Abt C was the likelies...

Help with 4.PzA and AA Kempf (8.A) OB Aug 43?
I'm looking for the complete OB/Kriegsgleiderung of these two armies for early Aug 1943, which is immediately after Zitadelle and at the start of the Soviet offensive known as "Operation Rumyantsev" or the Belgorod-Kharkov Operation. The Zitadelle OB won't do because there was much shuffli...

(Schw.)Pz-Jag.Abt "C" - Summer '43 AG Sud?
This unit appears in the Zitadelle OB for July 1943 attached to XXXXII AK, yet Tessin does not mention it in vol. 14. Sometimes it is refered to as a 'schwere' abteilung, sometimes not. Does anyone know what this unit consisted of? My 1st guess is they are newly deployed 88 Pak AT guns, but maybe no...

Re: NARA price increase
This is infuriating. Some increase may be justified, but nearly double? I am interested in several campaigns of course, and I was prepared to spend more than a little $$$, but not anymore. We need to pool resources - We need to set up a thread or topic here which can function as a forum for people w...

Re: NARA Records Now Available on DVD Media
Abicht - That photo sounds like it was probably taken before the July 12/Prokhorovka fight - but I couldn't say with certainty unless I saw the photo. Please continue searching around the archives - are you looking among LW records? I will start ordering DVDs of mostly Corps-level German Heer/Waffen...

Sean, Jentz's book on the Sd.Kfz. 250 shows GD... Jason; Do you mean Jentzs' 'Panzertracts' series or some other book? He has so many by different publishers. I just saw a text excerpt from that new KG Strachawitz book from JJF, and it gives the AFV inventory of Pz AA/PzDiv "FHH" on Jan 1...

Re: NARA Records Now Available on DVD Media
With the 'Field Command' records, many of the rolls include maps, usually among the 'Anlagen'. Were the maps microfilmed (originally) in color? What do the maps look like, quality-wise? How do they fit a large map into the microfilm frame? Chop it into sections or shrink the image? I've noticed some...

Help finding Kriegsgliederungen and personel nos. @NARA
I found this quote from Piet in another post in reference to Panzer Divisons' equipment inventory: Joe, The 1.7.-1.12.43 Kriegsgliederungen are on T-78 Roll 616 . I don't know where the 1.1-1.4. Gliederungen are. Piet I'm trying to determine the strength and personell numbers for all of the units wh...

Re: Panthers and Tigers after Zitadelle Aug 43: Help!
Jason: Just ordered Fire Brigades ...Looks great . Thanks for the tip. I'll try to get that 51st book through ILL too. GD did indeed control 4 Pz batalions on paper, but as you know they often only fielded a few tanks at a time. In Aug 43 I. and II. could muster what - about 20-30 ea. of Pz III and ...

Re: Panthers and Tigers after Zitadelle Aug 43: Help!
Wow, thanks, guys! As the saying goes; "Seek - and you shall find; Ask - and ye shall recieve; Knock - and the door shall open..." I tried to sort it all out with Jentz's Panzertruppen II, but it still didn't quite make sense. Now it does. Apollyon: I think von Natzmer was GD's Operations ...

Panthers and Tigers after Zitadelle Aug 43: Help!
This whole issue is confusing, but I'll try to describe it as best as I can. I'm sure some of you have been able to figure this out better than I. I'm trying to figure out what happened to the Panthers and Tigers of 10. Pz Brigade (51 and 52 Pz Abt) and sPzAbt 503 after the battle of Kursk in July, ...

Re: NARA Records Now Available on DVD Media
DVDs? :D This is truly great news. Now if only they'd put the Finding Guides online... Has anyone else recieved their DVDs yet? Is it possible to specify the image resolution when ordering? My concern is: I want to process the JPEG frames of the German text with OCR software and then convert...

Search parameter problems
What am I doing wrong? I'm trying to search for specific formations, like "52. Panzer Abteilung" (or... "Panzer Abteilung 52") and I get EVERY single citation with "52", "panzer", and "abteilung". How do I get this thing to only display exact search ...
