Got it !
Thanks for the answer, I added a German word to my military vocabulary :D
A kind of 80. Jäger Division or 28. Panzer Division, actually ;)

I can't help you or Lorenz concerning the 330. Gebirgs Division, but the topic seems very very interesting.

Loïc

Hello Jan-Hendrik,

Sorry not to know that, but what was a "Tarndivision" ?

Anyway, Lorenz's sources seem to be good enough to be considered correct, don't they ?

Afrika-Artillerie Regiment 361 ?

A hard one... When the Afrika Regiment 361 was sent in North Africa, it was supported by an artillery battalion, Afrika-Artillerie Abteilung 361.This unit was subordinated to the Afrika Division z.b.V., which became 90. Leichte Division in November 1941. This division had a very complicated organiza...

Aufklärungs Kompanie 580

Hi Feldgrauians ! I'm looking for information about the 90. Leichte Division in 1941-1942, and I found that its recon unit was, for a time*, this 580th company. There is no source, or very few, concerning this company, and I'd like to know more about it. I read that it was sent in North Africa a lon...

David, Thanks for your help. It would be great to have Leo's or Ron's help, anyway you seemed to me like a kind of North African Theatre specialist here ;) 90. Leichte Division organizational history seems so dark that I fear it won't be easy to find an answer to this... Thanks again. Best regards f...

It's true, there wasn't. At least not when it served in N. Africa from Sep 1941. My problem concerning this regiment is that Nafziger tells the following in Organizational History of German motorized and Panzergrenadier Divisions, p. 287 : "formed on 26 november 1941 from the Division z.b.V. A...

I have several questions about 90. Leichte Division that I think I could ask in this related topic. When the 90. Leichte Division was reorganized in March 1942, its first organization evolved a lot. On March 24th 1942, it commanded : - Schützen Regiment 155 (I.-II.) - Infanterie Regiment (motorisier...

Hi Politruk, Here is what I found when I made some researches about this unit a couple of months ago : Division zur besonderen Verwendung "Afrika" Raised as a divisional staff to control some independent units under Deutsches Afrikakorps command on June 26th 1941 : - verstärktes Afrika Reg...

No problem Jan-Hendrick,

I was just kidding, because I have several unanswered questions about regiments 155 and 200 of this division ;)

schwere Panzer Abteilung 503 is AFAIK an interesting unit. Where could we see the results of your researches ?

All the best,

Loïc
