Otto Kurth

I have recently purchased about 6 P.O.W. correspondence from a German prisoner held in France named Otto Kurth, they are all being sent to Leipzig Germanyfrom an unknown location. THe handwriting can hardly be read, it seems like he is writing to his wife. Does anybody knows who Otto Kurth was/is?

Jäger Regiments

I know this question is going to seem stupid, but can anybody tell me what the function of Jäger Regiments was? And were they considered infantry units? I apologize for my ignorance on this matter and I would like to thank anybody that can help me in advance.

thanks

Thank you very much, so the tattoo is just the Gothic or Latin script of the blood type? I thought it was a standarsized type of tattoo, like a certain letter in Gothic or Latin script.

thanks

Sorry about this thread and thank you George for responding, as it turns out that was a book that information was gathered from not a Unit function. Once again I apologize for wasting all your time, I should have checked my sources better before I posted.

Geb.Dat laut Biblio GebTrp Band II. ?

I wasn't sure where this belonged, but I was wondering if anybody could help me with the meaning of that. I am supposed to have a relative that was involved with that during the war and I have no idea what it is, any help would be greatly appreciated.

http://www.ritterkreuztraeger-1939-45.de does not have every KC winner on it, if you compare the Feldgrau archive to that site you will see many KC winners missing.

Could it be a Ghost division? I know there were a number of 'paper' divisions, ones that were on paper but didn't actually exist. I know a commander named Steiner or something like that had one such division and was ordered to releave the divisions protexting Berlin but was incapable of doing so.

would you be able to provide the original posts? I haven't heard of Skorzeny doing anything like that but I suppose it is possible. He was the leader of many oddball commando missions that had strange methods to them. Could you possibly be thinking of his Glider raids? Or possibly when some of his m...

Well as far as I know at the time Georgia was still part of the Soviet Union. So I would think that it would be counted as a statistic of the RUssian army as a whole.

What about Skorzeny's comando unit? Didn't they dress as Americans and go behind the lines to cause problems?
