Re: 16th Panzer Division escape at Stalingrad

There is some informaion in the opening chapters of 'Blood Red Snow',not much reference to the unit numbers, but to the confusion and chaos of the retreat, and units being mixed during this time.I don't know if this is any help to you. ---bil

Re: I heard a story....

Sort of...Captain (Hauptman) Adolf Von Schell was a German infantry officer that served in WW I,both eastern and western fronts.Post-war,he continued to serve in the German Army,as a line officer and staff officer. In 1930 he was sent by his government to attend The Infantry School at Fort Benning,a...

Re: British World War I Tanks

On the large,Mark I tanks, there was a set of wheels in the back to assist steering, but I suspect you ale looking at the smaller type tank with turret, there is a three piece 'boom' on the back with a small wheel on some,it is for when a tank is crossing an obstacle,to help prevent it from tipping bac...

Re: Medical Service of the German Army 1939.

There is a good Schiffer book on this-'The German Army Medical Corps in WWII' -a photo cronicle'. There is a basic history, some stories, including air evacuation, and lots of pictures.Sidecar stretcher racks, horse drawn litters, makeshift ambulamces.Much on everyday medical work also. ---bil

Re: Feldgrau photos for sale!!!!!

On many sites, the older pictures go away when servers are switched or re-formatted.I suspect that is what happened here,we have had it happen on MG42.us also. When I see a pic I may want to see later,I save it,but not if it is already gone! ---bil

From what I understand,it refered to a soldier that had signed up for a 12 year term, mostly before the war.A career,so to speak. ---bil

Re: can anything be done about photo removals

Some of it may be out of the forums control, for example links to other sites that may not be there still,or links to host sites where the poster may have removed them.I know,it does get aggrivating! ---bil

Re: can anything be done about photo removals

I am a moderator on the mg42 board,we have that problem, but mostly because of server changes.Although it may be a bit late for you,I always recomend saving and pictures you think you will ever want to see again on your computer.A link can also go away.Another method that has mixed results is asking ...

Re: The Forgotten Soldier Movie Update

I think the post by 'lwd' is about as close to describing how Hollywood works as any I have seen.As far as the canard about 'the jews' running the industry, the fact is that perception and money run the place,no matter the religion or race.If those two conditions were met,the type of movie we are tal...

It is usually not a good idea for anyone to send that sort of info to anyone by e-mail.There are many ways for it to intercepted at any point and misused for nefarious purposes.Usually your money ends up in Nigeria or somewhere.[thats where mine went]So it seems paypal or a similar web service is re...
