Re: 3 Turret Bismarck?

All German capital ships from WW-I era had twin turrets and options for twin turrets were made for the Panzerschiffe A,B & C as well as D & E. From what I've read that original planning also had options to upgrade triple turrets late, either to three 13" guns or two 14" guns. Any i...

Re: Feldgrau's Future

I already bought two copies, does that count? Hi, Paul, it does count. As I wrote I have advanced an amount to the Forum. However, to keep track I need to know that a Forum member - is a member - when he orders from me. Fred Sorry 'bout that, I didn't realise it was you when I ordered the book. Paul.

Re: M35 minesweepers

Does any one know about the construction of these minesweepers? I read in Groner’s volume's that these ships had armored steel installed in the bridge plus chine reinforced hulls? They basic construction was welded steel and had a dozen water tight compartments and like more traditional German warsh...

KM naval designations NM ; NN ; NK ; WBS etc

Studing the Germany navy they could have had as many as 4-6000 vessels in their fleet over the course of the war. What makes matters difficult to catalogue is that many ships change designation through out the war. In looking at the over 1300 auxiliary warships they have on the Navapedia site, I com...

Heres a really good article on the development of German naval strategy. I include several sites for the same article because some may ask you to sign up to get the article, which you may not want to do. But the first site has the complete pdf, along with maps and diagrams. https://portal.nwc.navy.m...

Re: German Raider Strategy

Hello All, I've recently gotten interested in the surface war during WWII with regards to the Germans. What I am in really interested in is the development of German Raider strategy in the 1930s. What was the plan for raiding at sea when friendly ports were non-exisitant? What about resupply at sea...
