KdF Liners Oceana & Monte Pascoal, Hansa

Item #1: Mützenband / Cap Tally / Hat Band for a Donald Duck hat for the KdF steamship "Oceana". 46" long and in wonderful condition for it's age. Born out of the remains of several ships, the Oceana began chartered cruises for Germany in 1935 for its Kraft durch Freude program. First...

Wilhelm Gustloff Anniversary

Exactly 68 years ago to the minute (running on Eastern time) the Wilhelm Gustloff sank beneath the waves in the Baltic Sea nearly killing 10,000 people. A horrible tragedy everyone should hear of and no one should forget. :[]

Unknown Kriegsmarine Ships & Aviso Grille

I was browsing through my old negatives and posted a roll I previously haven't. There are many German naval vessels, including the Aviso Grille, at what I'm assuming is Hamburg - but I do not know. If anyone knows these ships or harbor, please let me know. Wilhelm Gustloff Museum . com website Photo...

Pillau 1942 Photo Album

I recently posted a photo album from Pillau in May of 1942. I have attempted to read the backs of some of the photos, but I cannot distinguish letters aside from the back of the two Robert Ley photos just from seeing the words so many times. There are several images I would love to know more about -...

Signature Translation

This is the online photo of an item I recently got and I am wondering if anyone knows who it may be? It's from an invitation for a technical cruise of the KdF ship Robert Ley from 1939. Thought is may be Dr. Ley, but not similar to his other signatures I've seen. Thanks!

Re: Word Translation

Thank you for the information. These pictures are from her trip to Stockholm, Sweden and this is the last day of the trip. I assumed she was Sweden yet, but maybe this was a stop on the return home.

Re: Word Translation

That would make sense, thanks. It shows the Wilhelm Gustloff berthed there. I find it interesting that she would be tied up in a country that wasn't an axis ally, unless the photos are her returning to Hamburg from the port.

Re: Identify this ship and place?

Thank you for the identifications. Most of the rolls I have are of family life, but one had men in uniform and the ships, the other were these buildings.

Identify this ship and place?

I was rummaging through some old German wartime negatives. Would like to know what I am looking at. Thanks! :[]
