These pictures however were in a set from a soldier who was involved in the attack on Poland all of which were dated 39 in the same handwriting.

Both pictures from Poland. No unit ID on the truck, but appear to be mtn troops again. A lot of combat damage in the town. Were any of the Mtn divisions by any chance based in Ingolstadt? It is fairly close to the Czech border where apparently some of the other pictures were taken. The more senior officer on the right with gray hair in this photo from an earlier post sure looks like the officer on the station platform. ...

Railroad station.

These guys apparently kicked some butt in Poland and are now in route to France to do the same. I am told that it was common for troops to mark their rail cars. Nice uniform shot of the railroad police, perhaps the heer officer is trying to explain how the writing got there, they do not look very ha...
