Hi Brian, Picture #2 : On the opposite river, there is something written on the white house, what is it written on that wall ? The same thing too for the third grey house on the right. Well let's play Sherlock Holmes. what do we have. Your grandfather and a broken bridge near a destroyed church in a...

Hi,

I've just seen that on the net. There were several pictures of top turrets of BT 5 and BT 7. Two pictures showed two kinds of hatches of BT 5 and all were square. But anyway the BT tanks weren't real tanks but just wheeled coffins.

Good work For the picture #1, It would have been good to have a larger picture. For the picture #2, I've had the same idea as you, the wheels and the gun bother me. It's weird and I must be crazy but the wheels look like an american wheel of a US 105mm howitzer. Could be too the wheels of a 75mm gun...

Hi, The first reason for me of the U boots defeat in the Atlantic was : MORE ESCORTERS and PLANES. The XXI type submarine was really the best abble to go faster underwater instead on surface ( ask to the russians about their Zulu class submarines). But in 1943, most of the U Boots were of Type VII w...

Hi, It seems to me that your first picture and the fourth picture ( the gun on the left with three german soldiers on it) are the same. The first one shows in "fire position" and the fourth one in "road position". The gun looks like a french gun 155mm long or a 155mm GPF (Grande ...

Hi, Journalists just see what they want to see and hear what they want to hear. European journalists see the most often just what is going bad in Iraq and American journalists see the most often what is going well in Iraq. Maybe the journalists are honest but nobody can forget his cultural backgroun...

Hi,

Not sure but according to the form of the top hatch, it could be a BT 7 ( Bistra tanki 7 or fast tank 7, sorry for the russians but I know there is a mistake at the end of bistra). The BT 5 had square hatches and the BT 7 had round hatches. But it has to be confirmed.

Hi Paul,

Do you believe that a cat could have been a good decoy system against the kamikaze dog ? Sorry it's a joke.

Hi, Here comes the end. Henschel Hs 117H At an early stage in the Henschel Hs 117 Schmetterling development, a version, designated Hs 117H, was designed for the air-to-air role. This missile was something more than a stop-gap design (unlike the unaccepted Hs 293H) and, together with the Ruhrstahl X-...

Hi, The downsizing of the german army will end like the french army : no more division but just regiments. For me it's stupid because a regiment needs another units for fighting in good conditions. In Iraq the 3rd Infantry division did what it did because it was a complete unit. infantry, tanks, sup...

Hi, I guess the SABENA had some civil SM 83. For the rest I just think Hergé was just a man of its time. Don't you remember the "sept boules de cristal", behind the magician there was a star with six branchs ( not sure for the translation) and after the war he was accused to be antisemisti...

Hi, I don't think it was an APC but rather a tractor of gasoline cistern or a conveyor of ammunition. Frenchs used like this : http://www.wwiivehicles.com/images/france/chenillette_01.jpg But germans did too : http://www.wwiivehicles.com/images/germany/chenillette_01.jpg or http://www.smhq.org/artic...

Hi,

I don't know if this method is effective but fortunely for the russians there weren't too much fire plugs or street lamps. I mean for the male dog, of course. Ask to Cresus what he thought about the animal use in combat.
