Hi Phil Thanks for that , i knew about him dropping the Zelewski i think he thought it sounded Polish, but as for the insignia would he have been entitled to wear it even tho there dosen't appear to be any photographic evidence of this Michael Be was never a member of the Schutspolizei or the Genda...

Please not his name was Erich von dem Bach, he dropped the Zelewski part early in the war. I do not think he ever wore any Schutzpolizei badges as his Police rank was because of his status as a HSSPF, hisd bacxkground was with the Allgemeine SS
