LAH Tigers

LAH had no Tigers(I or II) after 19.07.43 when 13./SS-Panzerregiment 1 was absorbed into the establishment of s. SS-Pz. Abt. 101. But this did not fully occur until the period of 22.02.44 to 23.04.44 when the 13th Panzerkompanie returned from the Eastern Front where they had been, with LAH, attached...

Jason - kicking me out between forums

Jason;

Every time I change forums I get logged out. I am constantly logging in.

Is this something my ZoneAlarm firewall is doing or what?

Kursk markings

I think some latitude for error should be allowed on these markings. They were of short duration in an intense situation and then never used again. I think the Totenkopf and LAH mistakes are probably caused by poor memory. 11th P.D. used the inverted TTT at Kursk; and if someone mistakely remembered...

W-SS divisional insignia on shields

HIAG is the Waffen-SS veterans organization. The earliest I've run across W-SS divisional emblems in shields were in the Ballintine's and Purnell's stuff from the late 60's early 70's. Most that I've seen are just painted directly on vehicles with the exception of LAH, GvB, and possibly Fründsberg f...

GPT =

Germany's Panther Tank - the Quest for Combat Superiority by Thomas Jentz and Hilary Doyle. It's a must have along with J&D's 2 other books on the Tigers I and II. Also get the Vanguard book on Panther Varients. Jentz and Doyle used this to update some info on the Panther, especially the Ausf. F...

Panthers of every color

OK - the total of 5 Panthers comes from both GPT and BotB. As for the fake photo; this is a post from Thomas Anderson on Missing Links: I was the fool to use the fake photo September 25 2000, 3:23 AM I think it is time for the modeller of this controversal IR Panther to get the floor. It is never ni...

Concord Panther book

Charlie;

By the way, you noted that you use the Concord Panther book. The photo of the I/R Panzther in the book is fake if you didn't know that already.

Ersatz M10's

Charlie; Take another look at EofGT; the authors are Chamberlain, Doyle and Jentz. These are the same Jentz and Doyle to which I refer. The 1978 EofGt is outdated and. as Jentz and Doyle are first to point out, full of errors. The 1993 reissue is not any better as the publisher refused to update it ...

Ersatz M10's

Tom Jentz and Hilary Doyle in GPT state that only 5 Panther Ausf. G were converted to M10 configurations. Jean Paul Pallud in BotB states, again, only 5 Panther allocated to Panzerbrigade 150. In addition he lists 5 Stug III Ausf G allocated to the unit. These had no major disguise other than a pain...
