Interesting thread. I too have often wondered how many 'originals' survived the duration, particularly amongt the 'classic' SS divisions. I imagine it would be very few. My grandfather served in the 1st. A.I.F., and there is a famous photo of his 11th battalion sitting on the pyramids shortly before...

I too will be at the dawn service at the Shrine.
I go every year out of respect for the sacrifice my Grandfathers and other great men have made for our freedom.
Any protesters there will regret their stupidity.

There is nothing wrong with your question, I would also like to know.
Jez by your logic does that mean you think we should not discuss anyone who has passed on this forum?

SS
Hello
I was under the opinion that most 'atrocities' were carried out by the Algemeine SS. Could someone please clarify which section of SS were mostly responsible for the 'Jewish (partisan/gypsy) question'. Were the Einsatzgruppen part of the SS?
Thanks

Or maybe the computer nerds are sitting at home fantasising & posting about grand careers in the military. Re-read Joscha's bio, then include his claims in Vietnam - if you believe this without any sort of verification (very easy to give unit details) then you are the @#% twat. The best thing to...

Thorne
Thankyou Fish for the information on Thorne - what an incredible life.
I did a search and this is the best link I could find on his service record.

I do not understand why some on this forum do not feel that Joscha has a responsibility to prove his claims. In a perfect world everybody tells the truth - I have been burnt enough in my time to know it is not a perfect world. I come to this and other forums to learn, and I particularly value the in...
