sorry i mixed facts. he came to the SS from the SA where he was a reserve Standartenführer. Scharfe met him at a manouvre and persuaded him to join the SS. former He was Generalleutnant.

first the recruts were >Staffelbewerber. through their military Trainig ( first) they were Staffelanwaerter, after that first training, entering the fightning Force they became Staffelmänner. I my mind, they recived their commands from the Abwehr II. i can´t imagine that these elite was under the command of an other organization.
