I'm looking for a photo of the RK recipient Josef Schmied. Das Ritterkreuz does not have a photo, but I might. I just wanted to confirm if the photos I possibly have of him are really him. Does anyone know if such a photo exists?

EDIT: He was a member of 3/PiBtl.198/ID.98.

Thanks! I just got the book from Dresden a few weeks ago and am in the process of ATEMPTING (LOL) to tranlsate it...

I was just really curious if there are any surviving photos out there besides the ones I currently have.

Nothing? Anything about the unit would be greatly appreciated. I know that there are some German websites dedicated to divisions. Is there one for the 98. ID?

I don't know, but its interesting. It seems like he didn't receive the wound in his service because I can't spot a wound badge. Hard to tell w/ the Tuchrock though...

Opinions? The photo was taken in Crimea, where the same man served. If you look closely, which you probably can't see on a monitor, he has a "9" monogramed into his shoulder board. The man in the Wehrpass served in the 9th Artillery Regiment of the 9th Infantry Division. Both men look EXTE...

Well the content certainly looks amazing! Can't wait to see the finished product.

Is this the same setup that the Axis History Forum is using? Its quite similiar.

I like the basic layout, but I'd definately like to see something similiar to the original forum. It'd be interesting to see what we see next!

*The one suggestion I can think of now is to keep the boarders white like in the last one, so that our avatars blend in.
