The only WW2 german navy ships still surviving that come to my mind are the 3 sailing training ships Horst Wessel (US: Eagle), Gorch Fock(I) (RU: Towarischtsch), and Albert Leo Schlageter (Portugese: Sagres) + the 2 civilian sailing traing vessels Padua (RU: Krusenshtern) and Magdalene Vinnen (RU: ...

I'm pretty shure the signature is Erhard Milch (I've checked out an autograph). I'm not a graphologist but the similarity is striking.

Why do you compare the German carrier fighter with the multi purpose attack aircrafts of the british? I think the Fiesler in similar position on the "Graf Zep" would have made a good stand in rough weather landings...

Nope not Poland!

Architecture and type of the place are more K.u.K. style.

Bohemia and Moravia had also both such regional-flaggs: one in white/red, the other in yellow/red.

I oppt for occupation of the Sudetenland!

Nope It's not the same unit. I hate that book, it clearly shows the setbacks of paperbased databases. It does not search for you... Since I can not find the note I made about the FPN of Steiermark, I can't find it either. But I've found it on previous searches... It is listed like: Der Reichsführer ...

I think I already told Joe but I don't know if you already heard the rest of it. At some point in Flensburg Himmler decided that there was no future for him there. So, as we know, he was trying to escape. No need for a escort when travelling as a refugee. So Steiermark was released of its duty. The ...

I just had my Steiermark veteran Mr. Rast on the phone. It is very difficult to get a grip on him since he's quite bussy. He had only a few minutes, so only a few answers came around. About the OOB: Steiermark consisted of 3 co's for guard and representative duty + 1 Motorcycle platoon for escort. W...

Don't take it personaly, we Germans are just not used to plastic. As good as nobody use it for payment in stores over here (for that we use Maestro cards). I have a mastercard for paypal payments on ebay. Otherwise I would not see a need for it. I will keep you informed what is going on, but since I...

I'm somewhat bewildered where this is leading... Shure, the stupid adventure in Somalia was a mistake, but not only for Germany... But the german forces presence in Afghanistan is a very good advanced defense for Germany. Have you ever considered that Germany has a historical relation to the country...
