Sir, what exactly did I say that tarnished the honour of your grandfather's unit? That only 10% of the rank-and-file were Croats at one point in the division's existence? That many of the division's volunteers had motivation other than fighting "Bolshevism" when they joined the Waffen SS (...

Mr. Howard: I have dedicated the past 10+ years of my life to the research of the Croatian participation in WW2, and have written a number of articles for Mr. Pipes on this site. I have not insulted anyone nor rambled on, and my information is strictly that - information. To be told that I am hated ...

I am reminded yet again why I do not frequent this once outstanding site very often - the moderating is next to non-existent, and embarassing members such as Handzar run rampant, and make serious researchers leave in droves.

Yes there are alot of Bosnians who disagree with me, one or two. BTW , thanks for closing down the borders. Tvoj Hrvatski Cvijet. Again, do not understand what you are on about, and quite honestly at this point don't care. Have a nice, hate-filled life, and keep re-fighting the Bosnian war over and...

You quote an american over a German commander in Hungary? thats good. A telegram was sent about their arrival, nino has the info. His site is down. You spoke to this German commander personally, then? Or you base this opinion on hearsay from a currently non-existent website? Did you ever consider t...

Handzar: So approximately 2,000 Croats were part of the "Handschar" Division at some point, which is all I was trying to state. "M.H." had the division listed as proof of Croatian participation in the Waffen SS, and I was pointing out that only some 10% of the unit were actually ...

23. Waffen-Gebirgs-Division der SS Kama (kroatische Nr. 2) - division never passed initial stages of creation, was never at full strength, and never saw active service. I did fight for one week in Hungary, actually. Other units report seeing it, before it's men were sent to Handzar. Really...kindly...

While I am not familiar in detail with other foreign units of the Heer/ Kriegsmarine/ Luftwaffe/ Waffen SS, I can comment on the following: Albania 21. Waffen-Gebirgs-Division der SS Skanderbeg (albanische Nr. 1) Understrength division plagued by desertions, largely manned by Germans due to unreliab...

Hi Marko: In mid-late 1941 and early 1942, a majority of Croats still supported the HSS, and awaited action from Macek and the party's leadership with regards to resistance against the Ustase and the German/Italian occupiers (the brief euphoria over the declaration of Croatian "independence&quo...

Thanks, croat. The reason I asked is that I seem to recall Djilas (in Wartime) mentioning that there were mostly Serbs in the partisan formation in Croatia. I think the timeframe was 1943. But I might be wrong. Marko Hi Marko: Djilas' claim has been shown to be incorrect. More then likely part of t...
