Thanks, that makes it a bit clearer to me also. MTM were also the same kind of boat as the one that is usually called MAS?
BTW I'm having the same problem in seeing the messages very large. Best thing to do probably is to copy the text and print it in Word.
I'm glad the info was useful.
Best

Lupo! According to the War Diary of LXXXVII. AK, its CO Gen. von Zangen had a meeting with Rommel on August 2 1943 at 18.30 hours in Munich. Rommel was already OB Heeresgruppe B and instructing him on secret measures against Italy and orders for its Corps. So its command of German troops in Italy be...

Uzbeks in German Army in Italy

In which German unit in Italy would you have found Uzbek soldiers? Would it have been the 162. Turk ID?
What about Dutch volunteers?
Many thanks in advance

Unfortunately not after a first quick check. My documents mostly cover naval activities in the Ligurian see and more broadly the western Alps front of 1944/45 on one side, sabotage and stay behind networks in Italy on the other side. I'll try to check for the dates that you have added, but I am afra...

If I am correct, a book that I have read many years ago: Giorgio Bonacina, Comando bombardieri, Longanesi, contended that Italian houses being mostly built out of bricks and stones and not so much of wood (as in Germany) had a better chance to withstand incendiary bombs. Same thing - if memory serve...
