There is a lot of Propaganda about the Spanish Civil war: -Guernica Raid- It is said that there wasn't any important military objetive (I think a Gun Factory is). It really was a sad act, because the fire propagated over the wooden roofs and caused most of the victims, but there were also raids over...

Hi,

I suppose that some of them were veterans of the Portuguese Legion that fought in the Spanish Civil War in the Nationalist side.

(Note: If the fought with the Spaniards, they would be in the Estern Front.)

Bye and greetings from Spain

Hi Enrico, I think that German learned the lesson better than Regio Esercito in Spain. They fought bravely in Spain, the Italian soldiers were defeated several times (ex. Guadalajara, althought they won a Militar Medal) when their L-3 were destroyed by the heavier T-26 (and it was repeated in N. Afr...

Hi zurek,

In Berlin also fought the Spanische-Freiwilligen-Kompanie der SS 101 attached to 11th SS-Freiwilligen-Panzergrenadier Division Nordland.

The Spaniards, leaded by Obersturmbahnfuhrer Miquel Ezquerra fought around the Mölitzplatz (Ministry of Propaganda).

Hi Enrico, During the SCW, I think it was more important the Italian aid that German one. The Italian soldiers were more numerous (CTV) than the Legion Condor, and after the war was numerous the material from Italy (planes, artillery, guns, tanks and ships). Besides, I also think that our War was an...

Hi Enrico,

Since 1943 the relations between Germany and Spain weren't good.

How was these relations between Spain and Italia? I think Spain in 1936 was nearer Italia than Germany.

Thanks Enrico another time,

I have no much information about it, but I think that Spanish Navy had to rescue several Italian and German sailors and pilots around the Baleares, in the early years.

Bye Enrico, and Viva l'Italia

Hi Enrico, I can be wrong about the landing in Asturias, because these operations are not very known and I haven´t enough information. But would the Italian had disembarked in Barcelona? I have also read that these operations were planned to counteract an allied invasion, but there were several reas...

Hi Enrico Cernuschi, In May 1942 the Operation Illena was planned. The german army would had landed in Asturias and Italian troops would had landed in Barcelona. For the Operation Felix (the Invasion of Gibraltar I think), the axis forces tried to cross Spain, but, although being a not belligerant c...

Hi Kocjo, These soldiers, Fernandez Bernabé and Jesus Vega Vazquez, could be members of the Blue Legion (or soldiers of the Blue division if they deserted before 1942). In these units there were some relations of Republicans (Communists, Socialists, even Anarchists) who enjoyed the Division to avoid...
