I've made a big MISTAKE. The source I listed for Goodbye Translylvania for $9.95 is by Samuel Bistrian -- seems there are TWO books with this same title.

The ship is the Rommel, the Cycles are Rommel, and that's Rommel in the Stuka. I can't figure out how Panco Villa got into this tho.

A little off topic, but a neighbor of mine once had a riding lawn mower called "Lil Panzer".

Re: To wed or not to wed?

Difficult to render an opinion on the little information we do have. In my 70 years I've seen couples date and live together for years only to divorce in months. Give the following two questions some thought. 1. When you're ready to marry you'll meet the right girl? 2. When you meet the right girl y...

Eviction under those conditions is terrible. But how about the 82 year old widow who was thrown out of the USA.
No, not an illegal alien, those get priviledges. This widow's crime was being a, GASP!, dog handler!

Last Days.

I think one of the fired Wall Street guys must have gotten the job to do the subtitles. Pretty funny.

Phylo_Roadking!!!

You got it right and it wasn't even a riddle. You are 100% correct. He really DID retire to a dark room with a Lugar and one bullet. Put it to his temple and pulled the trigger, or didn't you hear?

He missed!!!

Could be realed to Feldgrau?

It would explain a lot of what's happened in the last 68 years.

Re: Invasion 1944 by Hans Spiedel

As the previous reviewer stated, "misleading and deceitful". As you read the book bear in mind that the writer was looking for, or already had, a high postion in the Bundeswehr and an important position in NATO. But still, an interesting book.

Re: Other Little-Known Accounts by German Veterans

That book reminds me of "Hitler's Last Soldier in America" by George Gaertner with Arnold Krammer. Gaertner was wanted by the FBI for thirty seven years after his escape! His American wife suspected something but didn't know what. The story would be hard to accept were it not for the photo...

Re: Review: Victory Was Beyond Their Grasp

This book was years in the making and it shows on every page. The complexity of details, large and small, the author has put together, flows from the division's inception in the summer of '44 to it's last days in April '45. No other book I've ever read imparts that feeling of 'Being there' day after...

Did any destroyers serve in both the USN and IJN during the war?

There's a new, almost 600 page, book I'm currently reading. Von Braun Dreamer of Space/Engineer of War is an honest effort to explain his life and times in more detail than I' ve seen before.
