Thanks for the additional data. On a previous enquiry a respondent had alerted me to the existence of a StuG Abt. with the KG but I could only guess at its designation. John, Tessin's work indicates this battalion was part of the 189. Infanterie Division (also in the Vosges), although the battalion may have been attached to the 16. Division.
