Re: The world has gone nuts....
I'm still having my best ones buried with me. Just to prevent some relative having me turn over in my grave by donating the lot to a library....

Re: Ammunition wagons
Ah, just as an historical note, I think that whatever regulations on size and weight of wagons went out the window beginning the first Russian winter. I don't think there are any specs on the Russian "panje" cart, but it was used by the Germans i huge numbers to the very end on the Ostfron...

Re: My war comics collection
TROY, YOU'VE JUST MADE AN OLD COMMISSAR VERY HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   :D :D :D I remember buying and reading that comic. I remember that I was amazed at the concept of an all black cover with the silhouette of the character peering ghostily back at me. Anyone who saw the comic when it wa...

Re: The world has gone nuts....
Hi Rolf, I totally agree with you about e-bay auctions, although it clashes with my need for instant gratification now that I'm 58. :D :D :D My theory is that, overall, prices were cheaper because there were more buyers. Now shops of all kinds have to sell at higher rates because fewer customers com...

Re: A couple of excellent imminent Ostfront books
Yet, in not a single succesfel major German offensive did the attacker have even near 3:1 firepower superiority. Well, IMHO, the problem with force ratios is that really good Generals create it even when their overall strenght is inferior. It's a matter of concentrating overwhelming force on the en...

Hey Troy, do you have any "Enemy Ace" by DC? I'd love to see the covers again.

Re: He-219 Books
Hi, I have the AJ press book and it is pretty decent, especially for a soft-bound book. The question is whether or not to take the chance and buy the Kagero book. Both books are over-priced, IMHO. Truth is I have more than enough materiel on the HE-219, so buying this book is probably overkill. Best...

Re: My war comics collection
the Korean War created propaganda that would shame Dr Goebbels :D :D :D You don't have to tell me, I grew up on the stuff!!!! To this day, when I think of "Jet Fighters", the first image in my mind is an F-86 shooting up a MiG-15! Nice pics though, brings back a lot of memories. :D  B...

Well, when you tell people things they don't want to hear and aren't ready to believe, it's a hard road to walk.

Re: My war comics collection
Well, considering the "commie" was flying what seems to be an F9F Panther fighter jet, he kinda deserves to get shot. Unless he liberated it. Should have stuck to the MiG-15, best fighter of the Korean War. Bestens, ~D, the EviL (It is good to hear about Charlton and Dell comics again. Bot...

Re: A couple of excellent imminent Ostfront books
This is pure nonsense and not worth arguing over. If that is the book's conclusion then the book is not a history book but an ideological fable. What saved Stalin was the Allied decision to open the Mediterranean theater.

He-219 Books
A question guys, does anyone know the difference between the "Heinkel He 219 Uhu: Kagero Publishing Monograph 41" by Marek J. Murawski. Published by Kagero and the "Aircraft Monograph 21: Heinkel HE 219 UHU" by Marek Rys, published by AJ Press? One's 92 pages, the other 96 pages....

Re: The Wehrmacht and Russia
I ask: How is it possible that the world had two dictators with severe obsessions at the same time-period? That happens all the time. Historically, what's the difference between this and the Roman Emperor facing off with the Persian Emperor? Rising of these brutal generals: Zhukov, Vatutin, Konev; ...
