Agree with Sniper. Very interesting book on one of the less glamorized divisions of the waffen-SS. Also good look at the Artic front war. I rank it as an important addition to my collection for a very reasonable price.

I just finished reading this after a long search. By the way, thanks to Kordts and Lexx for info to FINALLY be able to track a copy down at a half way decent cost, all things considered. I enjoyed the book very much, but one thing nags at me. Was it possible for him to have been so many different pl...

"Battleground Italy 1943" by Kurowski

I was thinking of getting this book, but would like some feedback from the forum. I have had up and down satisfaction with books by Kurowski. Input from members who have had read this book or at least reviewed it would be greatly appreciated.

And the good news is, as Uncle Joe mentioned, Doug Nash has another book going to the printers very soon if I remember correctly. Defintely will be on my pre-order list! As for Hell's Gate, one of my most prized books in my collection.

Tom, I could not agree more. I must have about 150 books on the WWII history alone that I have not read. This does not include other works of fiction and non-fiction. That does not stop me from eagerly looking for more books of interest to get. I figure that books are one thing that nobody can take ...

Saw one on a book engine for $200!! Could not believe it! Lexxx helped me out with a publisher name. I would consider $50 for this well spent!

Thanks for the review Sniper.

This is strictly my opinion "Panzer Leader" - gives a good view of Panzer battles Guderian was involved in. The real difference is the broader view he is able to offer after his appointment as Inspector General. "Panzer Battles" is excellent for the detail discription of the part...

Helmut, my introduction to WWII Geman history was somewhat similar. John Toland's "Battle of the Bulge" when I was 10 got me started with my first adult level war book. Folks got me Cornelius Ryan's "Last Battle" that year for Christmas. Next was "Panzer Leader." Back t...

Lexx, first, my apologizies for misspelling your name in my last post. Typing and proofing are not two of my strong points as you can tell. I have contacted the publisher about "Goodbye Transylvania" and am anxiously awaiting their reply. I almost made the same mistake on "The Torture...
