Windows 98 is the most stable system (and accepted by most games). Windows XP, NT, Millenium etc. all seem to be having problems.

Hi Fridolin, 1. Vietnam. 2. Russo-Japanese conflict of early 1900 century. 3. Development of naval warfare till the advent of Aircraft Carriers. 4. Logistics and operations management (this of course is more from a business perspective ... but it can qualify as a military interest if the battle anal...

David ... that's a much better idea ... focus on Asian wars. Afterall 3/5th of the world population and almost the same amount of global consumer market lives in few thousand square kilometers of Asia. And due to ethnic, religious, language and racial diversity, this zone is almost all the time at b...

Re: Hi Paul!
East Front 2 is a whole "new" version of the game... and a welcomed upgrade. The AI is harder to beat... especially if one plays with Extreme Fog of War with all options. Regarding human play. You're missing out!!! I highly recommend it. If you wish I'll play a game with you of Wes...

Jason, Sorry if I gave out the impression about advicing David not to start a forum. That is not the intention. The only thing is he should be very balanced if he does it. There is major difference in psyches of WW-II and Vietnam war. (A) In WW-II the evil and aggressors were clearly Germans. This w...

A young Pole killed his wife on the second night of his marriage (of course on honeymoon). Naturally he was arrested and his family was informed. His father rushed from the native town to where the honeymooners had gone and managed to locate the prison where his son was being held. The father asked ...

I have EF (i.e. EF-1 we should say) and WF both. I heard that EF-2 is gold edition of EF-1. My problem Jason is : EF is quite illogical ... computer is easy to beat. Of course I have never played it against a human opponent where the actual fun would be. I think I will get EF-2 so that possibly I ca...

Looking for a game ...
I am looking for a game regarding East Front which has palyability and thrill of Close Combat series but strategic ability as well.
Close Combat 3 is of course about east front. But there is no strategic choice since the battles are on pre-set maps.
Any suggestions?

Don't do it David ... unless you are very sure that you will be absolutely impartial in presenting things as they happened. I have seen on most of the forums that people (Americans of course) tend to outrightly deny or revisionise issues like American support to French who were trying to rape / opre...

I recently saw two quite famous movies ... Das Boot and Stalingrad (both in German with English subtitles). What masterpieces .... Of course while seeing Stalingrad I tended to be sympathetic of Germans ... forgetting that they were the aggressors and initiators of brutality in a war that eventually...

DW, Paul (later Major Paul) was virtually taken in by Hitler's speeches of everlasting glory and promises of virgins in heaven if you die for your country. Actually the virgins part was more motivating, although Paul always believed in advance payments .... i.e. not wait for death. Eventually while ...

Jason .. sorry for this. I know you don't like this type of unrelated threads to WW-II to proceed but I will still respond to Wolf. E.W. ... I was in Saudi 11 years ago.
