Under rated.

Underarted.
Agate's book is good but he is on the hero trail.
Have to ask if he is always objective ?
Pieper must have known being so close to Himmler exactly what was goin on in terms of SS ambitions and treatments within the occupied lands.

Study More ?

No Heinz, I don't think you are being objective here. Beppo does not need to study more , you only ask that he views things exactly as you do. You will Heinz shape things to protect Hitler to the best of your ability at every turn and corner, this colours your view on history and events. Although Ro...

My own view

I can only speak for myself , it was one I just couldn't warm to.
MK's biographical works on Commanders of Waffen SS / his individual biogs. I enjoyed much more.
No axe to grind against Mr. Lucas's works but it was how I found it.

I would agree with the other gents Michael Reynolds trio are good. ( Have a copy off but have not read his Biography of Peiper. "The Devil's Adjutant" ). The Kharkov book by Jean Restayn's book is a good photographic history although a little expensiver. Some of the photographs coul have b...

Deppety dawg

As "Deupty Dawg" might say " OH MY TOE BONE !". Not in the least Heinz , I am neither Homophobic , Angloephibic nor am I "Heinzophobic" :D If the entire Fleet turned out to be gay it would not cause me to blush nor rant and rave , nor would if make me think less of them.
