34. ID, Le Touqet Paris Plage

Hi all, Recently I bought a set of pictures of Germans in Le Touqet Paris Plage (France). The pictures were taken in 1940 or 1941 and show nothing special: the beach, Le Touqet, buildings and a few German men in uniform. Again, not very special. I can imagine the regional historian likes the pics an...

Interrogation reports?

Hi all, Well, here we are again: Herbert Noah (1908 - 1985) was my granddad. He was captured in Germersheim in Marh 1945 by American forces. I do assume he was interrogated after a few hours, maybe days. There might be a small report about him in an American archive, I think. But where do I look? Ho...

Interrogation report, where to look and find?

As I stated in another post, where should I look for the interrogations of my grandfather? He was captured 26th march 1945 in Germersheim by the Americans. I did assume he stayed a few days in the Lazarett of Germersheim, but he was moved to a POW-camp. I think (not sure about it) he was interrogate...

Re: Grandfather's military records and regiment

You should get his military records (or kopies of it) at the WASt Dienststelle Berlin. Now a part of the Bundesarchiv, they can help you out with the information.

Reasearching my granddad, again! Now I want to know more about Kasernes!

Hi all, It has been a few years I stopped researching the whereabouts of my German grandfather Unteroffizier Herbert Noah (1908 - 1985). For those who do not know him :D : he served in the 267. ID in France (august 1940- april 1941) and Eastern Front (june - november 1941), was transferred back to G...

Re: Legion Speer

Legion Speer (later merged with Legion Todt) was indeed part of the NSKK. Dutchmen joined in, though most of them were forced: Being transported to Deventer (eastern Netherlands) and/or Berlin and then to a SPeer-unit. NSKK Speer (as I like to call it) was active allover Europe. I found a handfull D...

Re: Medical Service of the German Army 1939.

A few things come to my mind: first of all, Breslau was encirceled in 1945, I assume a lot of paperwork was destroyed or captured by the Russian Army. Paperwork can be found, at least a part of it, at the Red Army Museum near Moscow.

Re: NEW NEVER BEFORE SEEN EASTERN FRONT PHOTOS

Thanks a lot for the tip! I did read Haapes book years ago (researching the war of my German granddad, his division took a same route more or less) and yes, I want to take the same trip when I am grown up ;-). I will take a look, so thank you very much!!!

Re: Finding German Vets

Did you check the website from the Volksbund already? As soon as you got his birthdate, you can contact the WASt Dienststelle Berlin.

Good luck!!!
