Stalin suggests shooting 50000 German officers

I once read that Stalin at Yalta suggested shooting 50000 German officers. OK with Roosevelt apparently, but Churchill was angered and stated that " No Englshman or member of parliament would accept that men who had fought for their country be shot," I believe I read this in Lord Morans Th...

Hi Sid, "From" A History of Warfare" by Field Marshall Montgomery, or so I thought! Looked it up and I can´t find anything to that effect. My sincerest apologies. I did however find that Montgomery himself says he was against the policy " The war became more bitter and made fight...

Hi,

Hi dduff442, Don´t see why the opinions written by a captain in the Royal Navy make him a neo-nazi or myself one for that matter. Am I an anti-Semite for not liking Israels behavior towards the Palestinians? Lord Buckmaster or good ol´Stanley? I couldn´t care less. I suppose you are right about not ...

Thank you both for answering One still can not get away from the fact that the general disarmament pledge of Versailles was fraudulent as no nation was going to disarm to Germany´s level. It seems apparent it was applied to her alone and apparently in perpetuity. What other nation even if it is cons...

Still a Fascist Germany would be an interesting opponant of the Soviet Union. Hi Michael, Formidable! Unless corroded by internal dissent, intrigue and treachery. With a common goal such as the defeat of the Soviet Union, I think Germany would stand strong, determined and united. As to Hitlers fasc...

Hi Pirx, Stalins decrepit empire might not have been in the position to occupy Europe on his own in early 1940´s, but I suppose through subversion, cunningness and the allegiance of radical socialists, such as the Spartacists, communism could step by step have devoured Europe. But of course, as much...
