Enrico, The casualty figures were for only 4th Indian Division. I read through the chapter for 5th Indian Division as well (the same book), but could not find any similar casualty reference. Nor could I find any casualty numbers for the Sudan Defence Force, or the African Colonial Divisions involved...

Dave, Unfourtunately armoured regiments in North-Africa rarely converted to new equipment overnight (except with the advent of Shermans in mid-43). Equipment in 40-42 was whatever was available. I have an OOB listing this unit being sent to the Anzio front in Feb/44, but would like futher information on the unit if it actaully existed (organisation, date of arrival, HQ attachment, etc). Any help is appreciated.

I've made repeated attempts to contact Jason since the summer, but still no success. His last posting on the forum is listed as Nov 25. Oddly, a posting I made a week or two ago seeking to contact Jason seems to have disappeared from this forum section.
