Speaking of COD 2

Hi All

I also have CoD 2, but unfortunately the Multiplayer section doesn't work:-( The computer simply "freezes" up, when I try to acces the multiplayer! Any hint to this problem :?: I'd really like to play the CoD 2 online.

Enjoy the gaming!

A booktitle

Hi John

Maybe this title could be of interest to you!?
The Unknown Battle: Metz, 1944 by Anthony Kemp. (Stein and Day, 1980, (Book Club Ed.)). I have not read it yet, so I can't comment on the quality of it, sorry.

A few pages

Hi Hannes

There's a couple of pages in Tieke's "Tragödie um die Treue", (Munin Verlag, 1968), pgs. 189-197 -Brückenkopf Altdamm. (In the English version "Tradegy of the Faithful" (Fedorowicz, 2001), its on pgs. 255-264.) Not much, but perhaps a start.

All the best

Hi Nino Volume 3, of R.J. Bender and H. P. Taylor's Uniforms,Organization and History of the Waffen SS, (pages 135-162), includes the story of 'Handschar', but since this series never got to more than the 20th SS-Division (vol. 5), the last two unit, (21. SS-division & 23. SS-division) are not t...

rank

Hi Fox I conclude that the dates refered to around the picture, must be wrong.(alternative the date of Wünsche's promotion, but that I dont know anything about.) I have not seen any books or sources indicating that the Hauptsturmführer rank tab should be three pips and 2 thin bars. The corect rank t...

Regarding the KC listing.

Hi Garder I suspect that the Foreigners refered to in the list, are Axis recipitants of the Knights Cross. That would be Italians u.s.w. The foreign volunteers in the Waffen-SS, must be included in the Waffen-SS list, on the same page. (I have not checked the total number though!) All of danish volu...

Misuse of Feldgrau

Dear Moderators of Feldgrau To many times you see, and experience: non-constructive input, “blah blah” post and very often personal attacks and “My dad is bigger than your dad” replies. People, in general, have little empathy for other points and observations towards the issues discussed here, than ...

More from Mollo..

Hi Paul I’m in total aggrement with your (and Mollo's) statement, that mirror patches was worn, after it was forbidden. I remember, (hopefully correct), some photographs of the Totenkopf in the Russia, with the double deathhead collar used. Consulting Andrew Mollo’s Uniforms of the SS (Coll. Ed.), V...

Maybe Angolia can answer (parts of) this..

I his book "Cloth Insignia of the SS", page 189, John R. Angolia states that the mirror deathhead collarpatch was authorized within the SS-Totenkopfverbände, (year ?), and that when the division was initially being formed, it was decided to use army standard of mirror images collarpatches ...
