Oh okay, then how were individual units distinguished from one another, or were they not?

Thanks very much for the help.

One quick question regarding this -

If the rank is, for example Obergefreiter, gramatically, shouldn't the abbreviation be 'Obgefr' not OGefr or Ob.Gefr, given that it is all one word?

PS: Sorry for the long dely in the reply, I have been away.

Thanks
Leving.

21.Panzerdivision - unit emblems.

I Have read the section about the 21 panzerdivision on the website, however I'm interested to know, where, if at all, the 'unit emblems' are displayed on the uniform. Three Emblems are given on the page about the 21st, but where were they used, more specifically, where on the uniform. Thanks Leving.

I totally Agree. Company of Heros is the most realistic RTS game for WW2. There is also an expansion pack due to be released.

In addition, Medal of Honour: Airborne will be coming out. It is a first person shooter, however, the clan side of the game can be extremley tactical.

Panzer division uniform.

It is my understanding that Panzer divisions consited of both Armour and infantry. The two forces working together - hense blitzkreig. Presummably, the infantry were, panzergrenadiers, or perhaps another type of Heavy infantry. In the below picture, there is a German officers visor (Peaked Cap) show...

Hi, guys, just another quick question:

How are the German ranks abreviated?

In English, Sergeant is abbreviated to Sgt. Anyone know how it is with the German ranks?
