Re: Rare & Interesting Sniper Training Video

I saw it before on youtube. Downloaded the 11 or so parts and burned it to DVD.

Also read the book sniper by Sepp Allerberger, in which he refers to the video.

The video was used by the Americans as a training film after the war.

La Cambe German Cemetery

I am going on a battlefield tour shortly, and will visit the German military cemetery at La Cambe. While I know the history of it and that Wittman is buried there, I was hoping that someone may be able to tell me a few interesting facts. In the British cemeteries, I am told of the youngest buried th...

Wittman at Villers Bocage

I have read all I could find on the net about his actions at Villers Bocage. I then looked at Google earth and tried to determine exactly where he entered the Village before continuing down Clemenceau St. Did he enter onto sharpshooters way and then continue down that road. Also does anyone know whe...

I have seen so many war photos in magazines, but when you have some in your possession that are on original paper, it makes you think more about the individual who took them and his family. The writing on the back of the photos ...

My uncle served in the Welsh Guards during WW2 and died recently. His son cleared out his stuff and found some German photos and what I thought was a pass. This turned out to be a feldpost reciept which shows he was posting money home to his family. I am in the process of uploading them to the net a...

Hi

The only tank museum I know of here, probably as it's the biggest and best is Bovington. I would google it and it will probably give you a website. I have been there a few times and know that they were always restoring vehicles.

Panzerabwehr-Abteilung (mot.) 654

I recently came into possession of some German pics and field post office reciepts. Someone here kindly identified the unit as that above. I also wrote to the Bundesarchiv in Berlin with the aim of passing on the few photos that I possess. I was told that the person survived the war but died in 1996...
