Re: SS Blood group tattoo
Was just reading through this old post. I hope my old friends Phylo, Paddy and Paulus are still well. My writing wasn't too bad back then, even if I say so myself!
My best bit of original research recently has been finding out who Spiers shot! Besten to all. x

Hi folks,
Thanks to whoever moved my thread to here, please feel free to delete it now though, as I have got in contact with Mike. Really should learn to post things in the correct forum!

Hi folks,
John, thank you for passing on my message, it is much appreciated.
Mike, I've emailed you, thanks. There are worse things to be distracted by than women, historical research perhaps being one of them!

Re: Feldgrau Author: Mike Miller
Hi folks, Posted a thread in the 'Books' forum asking if anyone could verify Mikes email address, but then realised two things. 1) This forum, and thread, is probably a more appropriate place, and 2) Mike is probably helluva busy, and might take a bit of time to answer. Anyway, mods, feel free to de...

Michael Miller
Hi folks,
Been a while since I posted here, I trust everyone is well. I'm trying to contact the above man, Michael Miller / ABR. I have emailed him on his Axisbio email, but I'm unsure as to whether he still uses it or not.
If anyone could help, it would be much appreciated.
Cheers,

Re: What do you think?
Hi Mike, I don't think that the shooting of the POW's happened (IE, 20-30 POW's killed) - the hardest piece of evidence is Don Malarkey (I think) hearing a tommy gun firing on D-Day, around the time of the incident. I think Spiers summed it up best with his quote, something along the lines of it bei...

Re: What do you think?
So, Phylo...This family only knows their son was 'KIA'...I can either A) Tell them the truth, or B) BS them, to get details of his life. I'm not really too down with the latter, TBH. I'm not really sure what to do. I think they would like to know the truth, especially as I'm not sure he would come o...

Re: What do you think?
Hi Phylo, The actual evidence is mildly sensational. The actual story resides in discovering the mans character. I have a slight hunch there might have been a personality clash between Speirs and the Sgt. After all, one doesn't make Sgt. in the AB if they are a complete d*ck? PS - Hence, there is no...

What do you think?
Hello Folks, I have a slightly interesting subject I have been researching recently, and I'm wondering whether to go ahead with it. Now, I "think" I know the circumstances of a certain mans death, and there is a slight story behind it. The crux of the matter is, to flesh out this story, I ...

Re: Death....
Hi Folks, Not posted for a while, for that matter not been online much for a while. Greetings to all the usual suspects. I checked FG for the first time in about 5 months tonight, and this post caught my attention. Death? I'm scared shitless of it. Not the actual process of dying, but of the fact th...

Hi Brendan, The photo's of Dertinger in the bare hills, near the grave remind me more of the Crimea, Summer '42. Although, if he participated in that campaign, there is more than a fair chance he took part in the drive on Stalingrad. IMO, Brendan, I would postulate that Dertinger died in '48/'49, ye...

Hi Brendan, No I don't think you are lying, I am as interested as you to know the full story. I had thought that about the photo's as you had said the returning friend gave them to Dertinger's wife. As the above poster suggested, contact the WASt to see if they have his service record, but that take...

Hi Hans, I have to say, him dying in a camp in 1957 seems a little odd. 99% (if not 99.99%) of all German prisoners had been returned by 1955. The case with the photo's is even more odd, IMO. If his friends were in this same 'maximum security' camp for 14 years, the chances of them holding onto a la...
