Hello,

If I recall correctly Kgr. Chill isn't a Falschirmjäger unit, but was merely the remainder of Inf. Div. 85.

Brabant Bevrijd maar weer eens een keer

von der Heydte/Fsch.Jäg.Rgt. 6 was the Kampfgruppe Chill "taktisch Unterstellt".

Recommended read (!) for the dutch readers amongst us is: Brabant Bevrijd, by Maarten Zwarts and Jack Didden.

well apart from the Stab , a part of the artillery regiment and the nachtrichten truppe, every other unit was "unterstellt" as the 85 I.D. did not exist anymore by that time....

S Flak Abt. 559

Post by Ruud Wilmsen »

I think Schwere Flakabteilung 559 refers to
sPzJgAbt 559 commanded by Maj Sattler

There didn't exist a Schwere Flakabteilung 559
only a scheinwerfer Abt.

Kampfgruppe 85 Inf division KG Schill

Post by Ruud Wilmsen »

KG SCHILL was created out of the remnants of 85 Inf division and stragglers picked up at the Albert-canal.
Commander was the commander of the 85. Inf Division Gen. Kurt Schill
When the Allies broke through at Neerpelt 17 sept 1944
Fallschirmjager regiment 6 (commander Oberstleutnant August von der Heydte) was transferred to KG Schill.
For composition of KG Schill see

The book "Tug OF War" by Denis Whitaker has pictures of Von der Heydte, Eberding and Daser.
