The name of the standard german mortar is 8cm Granatwerfer 34 but the one used on the halftracks was called GrW 67 and was also known as GrW 34/1. There was another mortar developed, GrW 73, for the halftrack role but it never passed the trial stage.

I hope this helps.

mortars in SPW

Hi Daniel;

That's very interesting data. All my refs indicate that the Sd. Kfz. 250/7 and the Sd. Kfz. 251/2 carried the 8cm GrW 34. Where did you find the info on the GrW 67 / 34/1 and the GrW 73?

Cheers

I found it in Terry Gander's 'Germany's Infantry weapons 1939-45'.
