Santiago,

Here is a good website for partisans during World War II. You will also find pictures of Polish partisans:

Dzien Dobry
Thank you very much past. The URl it´s excellent... but i can´t read polish. :(

Last winter i traveled to Poland with my polish friends.
I saw Warsaw and some museums. One of then very interesting in which
you could see the history of the polish army since the medieval age.
In the recent past you could see an exposition of Katyn forest and some objects that were found, and the fight in the city Warsaw.
One Goliat, and a lot of german equipment.
I remember that some helmets, german helmets has painted a polish eagle and the flag of poland used by the polish...

Now i have a very interesting german helmet like those... but i have no photos, and i can´t remember those images... for this reason i´m serching for photos of polish wearing german helmets...

But i will make pictures of my helmet, and tem i will post them, to see if it´s an interesting helmet as i suppose of it´s only another helmet...or a great fake!!...

Thanks,

In Poland we have one big problem we do nto have many "gifts" from german army -- tanks , planes ... All went to ironworks.

In Warsaw in 1944 polish partisants used many germans things, they captured warehause with SS uniforms . Many partisants used SS camo uniforms , helmets . Much of them was young people only with trening in "polish underground army". They do not have uniforms , guns ...

They usde germans weapoe , some polish from 1939 , some from GB , some from Russia , and --- some from "undergrounds factories"
They used fer german tanks!

Some polish forces looks like germans soldiers.
I know that polish www it is not friendly for foreigners but photos are interesting !

Your Helmet

Post by George P »

Your helmet appears to have a Polish flag on it but Polish flag is has horizontal white and red part, while yours
has it tilted. Possibly it is meant to represent Polish colors.
The Eagle on the front appears to be a typical Piast eagle without a crown meaning it was used by pro-Soviet partisans. Personally, I think the helmet has been made to look like one used by partisans. Majority of photos of Poles in German helmets is from Warsaw Uprising, where majority of partisans were pro-London government.
