During an american interview after the war, an officer stated that he been part of the
"Bavarian Home Guard, under Dr Escherich".
Was that really an independent body, or is it just an English translation of "Bayerischer Heimatschutz”?
Thank you

Re: Bayerischer Heimatschutz
Hello,
The "Bayerischer Heimatschutz" was an independet association erected in 1928 and was disbanded in 1933 by order of Ernst Röhm
The english translation of the name, seems be correct to me
Have a look over here:
https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bayerischer_Heimatschutz
https://www.historisches-lexikon-bayern ... _1928-1933
Sorry it's in german language and also very sorry for my poor english.
Kindly regards from Belgium
Prosper
