Hello,
on Sept., 9th, 1943 the II/FJR 6 was dropped on Monterotondo (near Rome) to seize the High Command of the Regio Esercito. According to various sources 1-3 Ju52 were shot down by Italian AAA.
I'd like to know how many Ju52 were shot down (if any) and of which unit they were part.
Any help is appreciated

Hello Fabrizio,

I can find one Ju 52 loss, Ju 52 Werknummer 180 526 of the I. Gruppe of Transportgeschwader 2, which crashed due to anti-aircraft fire at Monterotondo and was destroyed. The radio operator and gunner were both wounded, but the rest of the crew escaped unscathed.
