Berlin - Welcome to Feldgrau! Can you please tell us a bit about your military service? For those members who have Gordon Williamson's book, "Loyalty is My Honor", they can look on pages 58, 68 and 74 amongst others where they will find some photos of a fine-looking SS-Unterscharführer of the LSSAH and read some amazing wartime recollections.

A little searching on this forum will get you all the info you want about me.
However, ( I know how frustratingly slow this sometimes feels) here it is in a nutshell:
Hugo N. - Age 81 (going on 82), Ex nationality: Netherlands - Armies: Waffen SS, 34th div. Landstorm Nederland, "johnny come lately" Uscha :D, functions: Kradmelder ( Krad - Rad - Fuss und Bauch)/ Krankentrager ; AND later: Royal Netherlands Army, Artillery, Opper Wachtmeester /Batty Cmdr.- AND Royal Netherlands Red Cross Ambulance corps, Instructor/trainer /Medic Sergeant; AND Dutch Civil Defense ( Hoofdwachter ( Hauptmann ?).
Retired Podiatrist and Dr. in Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene and Safety. (in other words; a HAS BEEN ) :(
I've lived in the U.S. since 1960 ( and for those who want to go on a fishing expedition, Yes 'THEY" know it ALL. :[] :!:
That will have to do for now.

Lieber John vielen Dank was Du ueber meine Bilder im Buch" Loyalty is My Honor" schreibst.
Mir geht es soweit ganz gut bloss ie Beine wollen nicht so.

Just to let everone know Berlin , former member of 4 Kompanie LSSAH Erwin Bartmann passed away on 14/10/2012.

I was fortunate to visit him on a number of occasions to discuss his life,

RIP Erwin.

Glad to hear of your contact with him. Did he welcome interest or was he like

not necessarily Germany, could be Austria which is where the 6th SS-Pz Army - including the "LAH" - fought in 1945

Can somebody tell me where to find some good shots of this Wochenschau of 5/3/1945?
I believe the last fragments are shot by a Flemish Filmberichter, I believe the men with the Panzerschreck are soldiers of the SS-Division 'Langemarck'.
