1. April 1944, Samstag
“Good bye” party. Schiwitz and I are the only ones that didn’t get leave

2. April, Sunday
We were supposed to leave at 10:30 am by car. N.S.K.K. (Nationalsozialistisches Karftfahrkorps = National Socialist Motor Corps) didn’t come. Left at 2 pm with 3 panje carts for the luggage. 17 kilometers (10.56 miles) by foot to Tamashov. Arrived at 7 pm. Stayed overnight at my Aunt Irma’s.

3. April, Monday
Train to Koluski 2 hours late. Leave at 5 pm, arrive Koluski at 6 pm; leave at 7 pm and arrive in Warsaw at 11pm

4. April, Tuesday
From Warsaw with passenger train, left at 7 am for Brest. Arrived at 1 pm. Soldiers facility. Movie

5. April, Wednesday
Leave Brest at 5:20 am, arrive Luni at 2 pm. Briner says that if I can’t accept a short leave, he will have to transfer me to the military.

6. April, Thursday
Diatlowieze. I got my leave papers, plan to leave Sunday.

7. April, Friday
Diatlawieze. Front leader, base leader and 34 men were convicted of theft of military goods. The first 2 because they didn’t report it. Front leader got a fur coat for himself.

Schmid back to Munich

9. April, Sunday
Left at 1:30 pm with work train for Luni. Had to be at 4:30 pm for delousing, no steam, wouldn’t be ready until 9pm.

10. April, Monday
With other leave takers we leave for Brest at 10 am instead of 7:40 am. Package from leader, delousing, done with everything at 2 am Tuesday morning.

11. April, Tuesday
Traveling in 3rd class rail car. One can buy 2nd class only at the main station. Left for Vienna at 6:38 pm

12. April, Wednesday
7:10 pm Vienna railroad station - east. Waiting at the caretaker’s. Harry is still here

13. April, Thursday
Visit a friend of Harry’s. (Adi)

14. April, Friday
Movie, O.T. station, Mama Deutsch

15. April, Saturday
Harry is going back to Northern Germany. Weather is warm and sunny

16. April, Sunday
Zimmermann, afternoon Wuki, evening –(can’t read)

17. April, Monday
Left at 7:30 am for Salzburg, arrived at 12:40pm, 2 pm Sankt Leonard

18. April, Tuesday

1:25 am leave Salzburg for Grossraming

Grossraming. Felix and Romi pick me up from the construction site, Schuck, Klampfl etc.
