Servus,
What is this in the context of this sentence? I know that litterally it meas a "spitter" and that would lead me to believe it would be some kind of automatic weapon, probably a SMG but I have heard submachine guns referred to as " Spritzer" so is this just another soldier slang expression for the same thing or is it something else?
In Reihe fahren unsere "Spucker" auf.

I guess that "Spucker" in this context is a short slang for "Feuerspucker". Literally this means fire-eater. As the sentence translates like "Our spitters are driving to assemble in a row" I think the author meant - maybe - some tanks or self-propelled cannons assemble for a gun emplacement.
As all soldiers know since thousands of years death is not noble. It´s just very final.
