One wonders what the tale is behind each tank recovered , was it destroyed by its crew , mechanical breakdown , out of fuel , destroyed , disabled pushed into river.

As with all things the local people would have known about the tank and perhaps several different versions of hwo she came to be there.
I wonder how many of the people inthe photograph might know something of her history from relatives or if any of the more senior citzens watching know something of her past.
How many more like her ?

If you want german tanks, ask to the swiss army. An association in the south of the France, called Provence 44, gets a panzerjager Hetzer from the Switzerland. It has a Sherman M4 too but I don't know if they play together.

I would like to know if modern German tank-constructors or WWII weapons collectors are interested in German military equipment of WWII with the aim of advertisement (reliability, longevity, etc.) or some other aim. I'm from Ukraine and I found the places here were German's tanks and other weapons are located.

I just bought an ex MoD Defender 110 radio '87 2.5L diesel. I pulled out the bench. It has fancy wheels/tyres and some checker-plate here and there. It's a practicle vehicle in that it commutes (10 min) and wades (add occasional alternators), but the seats have to go. The Norton straps right in! Still in cammo.

*ONE OF THE ENGINES IN ONE BLEW UP IN TRIALS
*IN THE BATTL OF BERLIN ACCORDING TO MY FRIEND (NOXIOUS ALBY) ONE OF THEM WAS MENT TO HAVE BEEN USED AS A STATIONARY DEFENSE
*IT NEVER SAW PRODUCTION BECOUSE OF THE AMOUNT OF FULL THAT IT USED UP-AS YOU SHOULD ALL KNOW GERMANY DIDNT HAVE A LOT OF IT

I WOULD BE MORE THAN HAPPY IF PEAPLE COULD MABY AD TO THIS INFO OR FIX UP POSSIBLE MISTAKES

Only two were produced. One was destroyed by the Germans at Kummersdorf to prevent its capture by the Soviets, and the sole surviving Maus tank is currently in the Kubinka Tank Museum in Russia. Nine others were in various stages of completion when the war ended. None ever saw combat.

That STUG has changed owners yet again and is now in UK being completely rebuilt by the Sdkfz Foundation;

To go back to the comment above about testfiring guns after being cleaned...this is very probable, depending on the HEAT of the mud the vehicle was found in.....
Just recently there are a lot of crashed warbirds being recovered from Artic lakes etc in both Norway and Russia, including one incredibly preserved Soviet Airforce general's Lend-Lease Hurricane. THIS bird was in amazing condition - after recovery engine covers etc were pulled off the Merlin at the lakeside and the engine internal is pristine, almost factory fresh - because the cold temperatures actually suppressed chemical reactions including rusting and other corrosion!
Wrecks like these are providing spares now for many rebuilds including many to airworthy condition.
