Zossen sniper school?

I have been trying to find information about the alleged sniper school at Zossen, but no luck so far.
Can anyone help me out here?

NO sniper school in Zossen.
NO Major KOENIG
NO Standartenführer THORWALD.

Everything you heard about it ("Enemy At The Gate") is pure fiction!!

Actually, I am almost certain that there was a Major Koenig. Enemy at the Gates did ficitionalize a great extent of an otherwise true story.

Yeah--there was a History channel documentary on it. I know that hardly exemplifies lofty standards, but they could not get something totally wrong....
